JEWISH VOICES FROM AROUND THE WORLD – TILES OF A MOSAIC is a powerful anthology that explores Jewish life, identity, and belonging across continents, cultures, and generations. From the mountains of Dagestan to the islands of the Caribbean, through eighteen deeply personal essays, this collection illuminates how history, migration, memory, and tradition have shaped Jewish identities in a wide range of diverse settings.

Edited by Dóra Korányi and Sebastián Mizrahi, founders of Qesher (Hebrew for connection), this anthology is a natural extension of their work to foster understanding among global Jewish communities. Since its founding in 2020, Qesher has introduced thousands of participants worldwide to lesser-known Jewish histories through conversations with speakers from across the globe. JEWISH VOICES FROM AROUND THE WORLD - TILES OF A MOSAIC brings that mission into print.

The book showcases voices from communities, both large and small—some flourishing, others preserved mainly through memory—capturing languages, customs and traditions, some at risk of disappearing.

This anthology invites us to view Jewish life not as a single story, but as a vibrant mosaic—each piece distinct, each voice essential, and together forming a living portrait of a global people.

A soaring, emotional journey through history, culture, language and identity. Extraordinary in its depth and scope, this superbly curated anthology is a global collection that manages to make the private collective. From Istanbul to Soviet-Moscow, from Libya and Buenos Aires to the Netherlands, Egypt and Japan, the body of work is exceptional in detail and scope. Readers will find it impossible to remain unmoved by the rich histories and stunning tales of expulsions and immigration. Not a mere gathering of stories, but rather a profound voyage through the diaspora of Jewish communities that will live in your heart long after the last page. We are all indebted to them for documenting this sacred work of remembering.
